The PLAY Expo was a blast! Thank you to everyone who played our game and to the event organisers for hosting us.

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on an MMORPG in Godot for the past year, and I wanted to share this short video showing the state of the game today.

I’ve been documenting the whole development process on YouTube, and it’s kind of crazy going back to that first video and seeing how different the game looks now. I’m really happy with how far it’s come, so I thought I’d share where things are at now.

Probably one of the things I’m happiest about is the little community that’s started to grow around the game too. It’s been slowly growing on YouTube and Discord, and I’m hoping I can start building a bit of a community here on Reddit as well.

I’ve also had a 24/7 playtest available on Steam for a while now, which has been really useful. Having people actually play the game and give me feedback has helped a ton, and it’s been really cool seeing people find the game and share their thoughts on it.

There’s still a massive amount I want to add, but I’m really excited to keep working on it and see where it ends up. It’s kind of hard to imagine what the game will look like another year from now.

Thanks for reading!

This is a video on the creatures and tools to build them in my game Grimorium!

Grimorium is a roguelike spell-crafting dungeon-crawler where every voxel of terrain is fully simulated and destructible. Fluids, particles, and terrain all interact using a custom physics system similar to classic falling sand games in full 3D in a custom engine inspired by Noita's Falling Everything engine. Join the Discord to follow the project and eventually playtest! https://discord.gg/X5Qy39eQmx And I'll be adding more socials to linktree soon! https://linktr.ee/BurkelbearGames

If you want to support me working on this project full-time, you can offer support on Patreon, which will also give access to a sandbox game of the build and other playtests! https://www.patreon.com/cw/BurkelbearGames

I'm very excited to have the talented Luke Colombero doing music and SFX for the game! He composed the music for this video as well! Luke Colombero: https://www.lukecolombero.com/

The engine is written entirely in C++ using a custom-built game engine, with a focus on performance and large-scale voxel simulation. Right now I’m still in the early stages, implementing core mechanics and optimizing the voxel physics and world generation.

This has been my dream game project since I first started programming, please like and subscribe if you're interested in seeing more, and leave a comment telling me what you'd like to see in this game!

Nobody outside our development circle had ever actually played Galactic Realms: Quest for the Forgotten.

So at PAX West, we handed the controls to Jenna Stoeber, gave her a quick look at the keyboard controls, and sent her into the Rift live on stage.

She had no practice run. No walkthrough. No knowledge of the dungeon or the route ahead. This was her first time playing Galactic Realms, and our first public live gameplay presentation.

This is what happened.

VIP PLAYTEST BEGINS SEPTEMBER 23

We are getting ready to open the dungeon to our first group of VIP players. The Playtest shown here is a focused single-player Expedition built around combat, exploration, extraction, leaderboard scoring, and limited Testnet Drakes that can be discovered through gameplay.

What is Galactic Realms?

Galactic Realms: Quest for the Forgotten is a first-person, 1-4 player co-op PvE-only extraction RPG and dungeon crawler where dark fantasy collides with forgotten technology.

Gear up in a shared, persistent underground realm, then descend into an ever-changing dimensional Rift Dungeon. Fight brutal PvE threats, explore handcrafted environments, claim rare loot, decide how far you are willing to push, and extract before the dungeon takes it back.

The Playtest in this video is intentionally focused on the Expedition itself. The larger Galactic Realms experience expands beyond the Rift into the persistent underground world, multiplayer/co-op, progression, crafting, Drakes, and the broader systems we are continuing to build.

No pay-to-win. No microtransactions. No loot boxes. Your power comes from gameplay, skill, teamwork, and smart decisions.

Survive... or be Forgotten.
